How underground do i get???

I am underground in a Badger Burrow making Badger music.
"All roads lean to burrows,
All borrowers need to know,
That what you took from funk today,
You gotta pay double back tomorrow."
So this is the other side project that i am doing with an mad fusion of disco punk madness called The Artful Badger.. Get to know about this.its all about the live shows, we have hay fights, badger, big synths, dancing half naked owl girls, wild feral beasts and so much more.
Yes I did say dancing half naked owl girls
the Badger Badger collective!!
– a 7 piece percussion heavy live band that weave their black magic though intense improvisations that redefine the live experience - journeying Disco , Dubstep, Jungle and Rap Samba.
Get bitten by the Badger!"
Check out the video below to get a feel for the absolute mayhem we cause on stage. obviously in a very productive, lets rock out manner, comepletely manic and with gear shifts like a grand prix
Check out the myspace and hopefully see you at a gig sometime soon! Will post a slideshow of the badger gig pictures soon,
Secret Brookney Stomp Lift Off - RoomfullofMOnsterz Live

So from the humble basement beginnings from the Summer @ Bar Rhumba, we moved onto an atmospheric in-store event @ Wyld Pytch in Soho. With RoomfullofMOnsterz playing an intimate set of songs from their upcoming EP and a nice little flow of drink going on the vibe was set.
Cheers to 2110 Creatives and Yume for the work done
Thanks to Benjamin Amure for the pictures. I am loving this picture. Its reminds me of some early 90s kind of hip hop group. In a fly way not in a this shit looks dated way.
Here is the video of the performance.
Yes Yes and he's blogging again

MJ brings all the stars out
I have avoided posting much about The King of PoPs untimely demise since we had so much media coverage already.
I was riveted to CNN & SkyNews that Thursday night, and it just took me ages for it to actually sink in that a defining musician of our times was never to be heard again.
I guess it was kinda like when I realised that I have heard every Biggie Smalls verse that will ever be recited. Its so final - its a wrap - no more new material ever again.
Yes I know people can dig into the vaults and pull out old sessions, but its different when the lyrics are topical and you can tell the writer has been going through the same world motions as yourself when they put pen to pan.
So here is one of my favourite MJ videos. It shows the strength of his pulling power in his prime. This video probably has 30billion dollars worth of star power if it was shot today. The collection of celebrities is rivalled by no other video and it is done in such a way that the only cameo in the video is actually Michael Jackson.

STyles P is really short, Sheek is a tank, Dead Prez are cool as f*ck and Premo always cuts it up clean.
The rain kinda made it a little more like London for us....
Im loving the black n white bridge pic. I may get a digi slr and dable a bit more

We played an instore launch for Atmos & Yume on Thursday night. Took Afrapunk east end stylee 2 blocks down from the Apollo and rocked this heavy trainer store. Its kinda like ?size and the Secret Wars cats were in attendance too.It was sweaty as hell!!
Many thanks to carl chilsom check out his work here ,
he took lots of dope pcitures of us! I had to find a way to cover my weird neck allergy! It aint right, but its getting better.
It was a night out on Bleecker for us after the show! Munchies at Katz, too many drinks and was wicked seeing the boy deji abrahams. We stumbled into Le Possion and watched the Grand Puba & U-God concert.
Damn U-God is old and his hype man was kinda off-key, but it was still good seeing wu on stage again.
So here is a Wu God video cut for old times sake

Public AssemblY - Secret Wars - NYC vs LDN
We were down at Public Assembly on n6th in the 'burg playing our first set. It was the Secret Wars US night so there was a London family in the house.
The concept was: 90min graff battle - 2 big sheets - london vs nyc! The winner would be decided by decibel counter n bands from both towns would provide the soundtrack to the battle....
Beat box monster Reeps was hosting alongside Mike from Yume & it was set to be a big one.
They were a little on the long side with the promoters and scheduling, another band ran off with half the house kit - big gapping hole where a cymbal stand should have been, how do you miss that??? - and yada, but we managed to rock it still and repped the bammy madness of Put Em Up to the fullest. The live version of favourite girl transcends a next height of sickness with the new arrangement and that went down a treat...
Many thanks to the gorgeous Abi who came down, my boy Koye, TShirt, Dred, Ronin, Cisco and all la famile who came down to rock, and of course The Asotr Kings
Im gotta get the pics from shirt of when we were playing!!
Rehearsalz
we went past where we shot the "Favourite Girl" video on the way to the rehearsal room
its good to have d.ablo along for this trip. man is a monster on the guitar and the set is sounding sick. you would think we all dropped out the same womb with sm58 mics attached,
charlie browne from yume passed through the rehearsal as well, he is digging the vibes. Its looking like its gonna be a heavy week of gigs and shenanigans.
bumped into a NYC gritty band called "my other friend", they were in practicing just before heading upstate to the mountains to record their album.
andrew is a monster on his new maple pearl kit (***vintage***), we have all come a long way from the last set of gigs we played and its sounding tight.
here are a couple of photos from the session.

New York New York
Landed at JFK today with d.ablo - met The Gallows at the airport, that was pretty cool!
They had some heavy tattoos and are in new york hanging out before they fly to LA for the warp tour!
My camera yet again seems to have died somehow!! dammit.
i am furiously charging the battery and trying to use mind over matter to make it work.
Need more Jedi skills.
The hotel where we are staying is a cool spot just off Bushwick and Flushing, has a good vibe about it , couple of cute girls running about and a relaxed attitude. Our kinda spot.
Just about to go out for the first rehearsals with the twins. Its the old gang back together again.
Bumped into Parris (Goreela) when I stopped in at Spex studios...
All of this would be way more vivid if my bloody camera hadnt bitched out on me.

Jamie Foxx Vs D'Angelo
My friend Fabienne loves D'Angelo and the other day while we were flicking thru kat williams videos (another post coming soon) on youtube, she put her foot down and said
"No More Kat Williams, I wanna watch d'angelo, 'how does it feel'...find it".
So i dutifully got on my search flex to find it for her...aah poor Fab. This is what we got instead.
But i love it!!!
She says she can never watch the original again, i think this does it more justice.

The Clown Prince play The Greatest show iN the Universe
I spent a couple of days this week doing some ADR for a new british movie called The Story So Far coming out this year.
Its about the music industry and is extremely funny, i was just watching some of the scenes whilst the foley was being done and even those snippets had me pissing myself.
Its about the greatest new rock band in england and their rise & rise....
I will post more when I get some pics n vid..
My scene was playing the band who open the greatest show in the universe..
Its seems I am getting more and more into film. My debut in Dubplate drama 3 is out this month. I hope I am in the country for it. Here is the trailer for it..
Look out for CHiFy in the studio fight scene..oh yeah Shystie swings some blows.

CtrlAltShift Magazine
Ok so thanks to Neel Dwala for pointing out that I got the last link wrong....hahahah
But here is the link for the articles I am writing for the socially conscious online magazine.
It is an account of my last trip to Las GiDi (LaGoS), So you click on the website, go to the magazine link, and chify will pop up.
Here is an excerpt of one the upcoming articles -
Fuel, Videos & a madman with a Hammer in his Hand.
I have been in Lagos for a couple of days now and think I am finally adjusting to the heat. The temperature is a healthy 32-36 most days and there are some times of day that you just never go outside in the blazing heat. Well if you can help it.
The weird thing as well about Lagos is that there is never a real opportunity for you to walk anywhere. I mean you can if you really have to or want to but there is no “just walking over to the shops” where I live and everything seems like a car trip. It is also seen as safer than just bopping about on road, and not just because of anything to do with getting robbed btu more about the mad little taxi scooters and general driving antics of most people on the roads.
So imagine my surprise when I saw more pedestrians than cars one day. There was a sea of cars all straining towards an already chained up petrol station with sun beaten occupants waiting to get served.
I had managed to get struck with the ‘petrol scarcity’ nightmare of Lagos. There seems to be a reoccurring theme with this trip and oil/gas/petrol, and in fact I think that Nigeria is one of those countries that is very apparent on how it makes it money. We as Nigerians know that our country runs and operates on oil, so when there is no fuel – Nobody move Nobody get ‘urt.

How to build a studio in the heat Part1
I captured some footage of building the studio in Lagos..
It was hot and i had lots of different obstacles e.g, state wide fuel shortage, that made the whole experience slightly longer.
I worked with a cool team of builders though and we are at phase tizzwo of the project.
Next stage is building an isolation booth and wiring up some gear!! brapity brap
Check out my mad carpenter at the end.

The Clown Uncle
So i have been subjected to a movie marathon by my lickle nephew AJ.
Twilight
Shrek 1,2,3
Monsters INc
Poor little man has a temperature, perhaps slight malaria so he is home from school working on the clown prince with his uncle.
I got a great email from a musician friend - there is a muitiny in the air. A growing feel of discord with the amount of time musicians have to spend online sorting out their social networking instead of just gigging and focusing on what matters. The Music.
I understand that it is great for musicains to take their careers in their own hands but now there are so many pitfall websites that you could lose hours of your life working on - to what avail
Word of mouth is still one of thew best forms of PR - so tell a friend about the clown prince, and not just via email

Black Gold Burning
ok so i have found a wireless internet point to be jacking, and now i can upload some blogs properly.
im on twitter so follow me there, i am updating that much faster!!
but i have been blogging offline so here is a lickle posting an excerpt from something i made earlier
Black Gold Burning
We had spent the day at the beach house on Ilashe island and were catching the boat back to the mainland> As we walked down to the mooring we spotted some black smoke coming over in the distance above a hut.
Thinking it might be a house on fire we asked someone and they told us that the oil pipelines run through a part of the island.
Nigeria is the 6th biggest oil producing nation in the world. Whilst I have been here I have experienced petrol "scarcity" and 6 hour long fuels ques. The town goes into petrol pandemonium from people hawking black market fuel in jerry cans on the roadside
- (be advised your car might never start, turn on its windscreen wipers or use its electric windows after experiencing it) -
to mobile policemen being used as mercenary petrol buyers to the highest bidder, storming into the petrol stations waving whips, guns and of course jerry cans to collect "petrol for chairman"> which chairman? we might never know, but at least his wife made it to that "o wan be" (you must be there) party.
at the beach i commented on how the oil tankers loomed on the horizon in their dozens like an armada ready to attack. for real. i took a pic -
will upload that soon -
juts loads of em, hanging on yoru peripheral.
then as we pulled out on the boat away from the island , we saw the true extent of the oil pipeline on fire.
global warming on a volcanic scale
the smoke reached way across the sky, it was so high up as well, crazy shit.
here are some pics, if they ever upload before next year, so you can see what i am on about.
its a damn shame, because a lot of lives have been lost and still are (niger delta) over this Black Gold Burning
ok so i just flopped the pic upload by trying to scam lots of em up, perhaps there is a firewall on this tingy.

YouTube - TRAILER DOUBLE TEAM
YouTube - TRAILER DOUBLE TEAM
Ok so I was stuck watching this pile of crap on channel 5 last night. It was like watching a crash in slow motion...you know its all gonna end badly but somehow you are transfixed to the spot...
There are so many B-Ball puns thrown in for the sake of Rodman's non existent fanbase (yes even in 97, dude was a dick) that you cant help but cringe your way through this.
Also features the a bike chase underground with a baby on handlebars, kun fu fighting against a lion, Rodman doing his "I am trying to act here baby" face - the man has rubberized features, its all ugly.
So if you have a vcr - crack this gem out and order a shithouse pizzahut pizza, you deserve no better. Put your feet up and watch how cocaine and a crackhead film agent can ruin ones life as in the case of JCVD...
I cant let him off that easy - just pulled up this fmor youtube - the tune is actually ok - its by KiLLDaHype and the video has the infamous JCVD daning scene from BReakin...
Breakin in itself deserves a whole blog posting - so i wont even start on that yet..
36hrs till my African adventure begins!! Woop WOop

Nadine Charles Blog Page x
Was just reading song siren Nadine Charles blog...please check out her blog. She has a great voice - wicked personality and a wciked pair of eyes.
Whilst reading I noticed that I was munching on excatly the same box of choccies she had been given.
Nice, i wonder if she was watching the wire and blogging at the same time as well
Well, im getting well into this flock thing, but who knows, could be bored of it by 2moro night..
I got some audio goodies that I discovered today, I found my tracks that I recorded with Kele Le Roc, I thought the files had been corrupted beyond repair, but you cant keep a good CHiF down.
Those bits will be posted at some point, after a little more recovery work... Off to Lagos in a heartbeat...damn this Bank Holiday went quick. I been undercover for a lot of it.
I am looking forward to drinks at Nobu this wednesday and a little leg shake at Life in Old Street.
The BPM and Gilles Peterson will be spinning tunes and i am sure there will be lots of friends and family about.

The Dublin Castle Likes The Clown Prince
THE CLOWN PRINCE- Excellent urban/hiphop outing with some truly fabulous riddims ridden raw and rockin by the righteous rapper here…like a London Than/Brit Outkast in many ways….
The Dublin Castle
Thanks to everyone who came out to the show that night. It was a wicked crowd - great energy in the room. We all love a long weekend innit. Still going strong London - 2 more days of lounging to go.
After the gig went over to Night Train @ The Shackerwell Arms to see The BPM play. Ronojoy (ala Real Gold) is running a dope lil soul night down there.
The pub is split into the right kinda sections - so you can
smoke in a chilled seated - covered indoor environment outside
chill in a pubby well lit room with live music and a dj
or
rock it out in a darker- copa cobana esque dance space - with mirrors to catch yourself throwing shapes with your mate
Its just started growing - so go down and support the night..its good fun
I dcuked into Spring break real quick as well. It was round the corner and a hot mess.
Sweat - box is not the word. A friend I was with remarked that the place stank of "sex & dodgy drugs" - well, i have a cold so I missed both, but the heat in there was crazy.

Exclusive Monday Strikes Remix (Bowery Boys Refix)
Crowd mosh inducing stomper Monday Strikes Remix by Brooklyn based duo The Bowery Boys. Feat additional vocals by Nina Sky's tour DJ Will Divide.
Will is the dude in the middle - then you have from LHS - andrew (drums) , zach (guitar), will divide (dj), chif (vocals) and chris (bass) . Thats the NYC THe CLowN Prince BanD. We rocked from Brooklyn to Rhode Island.
Will Divide is a goodfella. We were hanging out in a lot and he done some of the sickest dj sets I have ever seen.
He can be found somewhere in the 'burg low slung ins a long truck pumping something potent.
Or alternatively
Check out Wills music and mixes here http://willdivide.blogspot.com/
I met these cats when I was out in New York and they make some wild shit. Not really big on publicity but studio hermits. Expect a couple of their tunes floating out on MIzchif Records sometime in the near future.
Enjoy the free download. The tune main mix will be dropping in the summer accompanied by a ridonculous video to boot.... Next stop Lagos!!
